William "Bill" H. Munce

William "Bill" Howard Munce, 80, of Renner, South Dakota, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2015 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

A visitation with family present will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Heritage Funeral Home in Sioux Falls.

A private family graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Hills of Rest Cemetery in Sioux Falls.

Bill was born on August 23, 1934 in Sioux Falls, the son of Howard William and Della Myrtie (Bates) Munce. To this union, Bill and James were born.

He was a 1952 graduate from Washington High School. Right after he graduated from high school, he enlisted in U.S. Air Force and served his country from 1952 to 1963. After he was discharged in the military, he came back to Sioux Falls to work at Munce Brothers Moving & Storage for a number of years.

He was united in marriage to Jill V. Hines. To this union, four children were born, Marshall, Walker, Heather, and Trevor. She preceded him in death. He later married Ann Schuknecht on November 16, 1985, and the two remained happily married for 29 years.

Bill was an avid golfer and was often found on the golf course where he made many lasting friendships through the years. He also was an excellent wood worker. He was very proud of his children who meant the world to him. His love for them was beyond words. He always said how blessed he was to have the kind of children he had. He will be remembered for his quick smile and his willingness to be there for anyone who needed a helping hand.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ann of Renner, SD; his four children, Marshall (Lisa) Munce of San Antonio, TX, Walker (Debra) Munce of Sioux Falls, SD, Heather (Bryan) Howe of Garretson, SD, and Trevor Munce of Sioux Falls; his eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren; his brother, James (Monika) Munce of Manhatten, KS; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Della Munce, and his first wife, Jill.

Kober Funeral Home of Vermillion has been entrusted with the services.
