Not sure what to say?

I was just thinking about your family this morning. I don't know why Tayloe popped in my head, but he did. A few minutes ago, I received the email from Legacy. I think that is a coincidence that is hard to beat. You and your family are such a significant part of my childhood. I mean... I had never seen an artichoke until I came to dinner at your home. Of course, I was too embarrassed that I didn't know what it was, but Helen was so kind about it. No one could feel awkward or insecure around...

Anne, I am so sorry I was unable to come to your dear father´s funeral. I adored Tayloe, as you know, and feel keenly your loss, and the loss to all who loved him. Please take comfort in knowing he´s again with his beloved Helen, and will forever be by your side. Much love to all your family, Cyane

It is said that those who live on in the hearts of others never truly die. Tayloe lives on in this way. He inspired, encouraged and led generations of us who work on restoring Virginia's waters and the Bay, and will continue to guide us. What some may ask is how did he accomplish so much environmental progress by being such a southern gentleman, and so kind? Wow.

Tayloe Murphy was one of the finest Virginia gentlemen I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was a patron for, and mentor to me during my service with the Chesapeake Bay Local Asistance Department. I am sorry that more Individuals possesing Mr Murphy's integrity are not in public service today. May his family take comfort in his accomplishments and his lasting legacy.

A fine man and true Virginia Gentleman. It was an honor to know him.
