Not sure what to say?

Would someone from Bill Murtha's family call me 570-961-1270. Joseph Lalli former GW teammate.

As a St.Peter's '65 grad, even though I wasn't at the school during Bill's years, yes, he was a living legend. I played a lot of half-court ball with him in the evenings at Susan Wagner High School. Always a pleasure to be around and always considerate with the basketball. He never saw me as the smallest guy on the court (5'6"). ...Just another player who got the ball if he was open. In High School Bill and I had many conversations over 4 years but not one was about basketball or sports. He was always quiet and was always just Murtha not a sports star or tough guy. I miss him and I am sad

Rip Bill.God bless you &your family.Bill and I competed against each other since 1956 in Kiwanis league and all through high school Bill was the toughest guy I ever faced.God bless Bill

Met Bill about 20 years ago through mutual golf friends. We knew of each other's sports history and became good friends. I will miss him as will so many others.

Good to hear that several of our classmates ( SPBS '61 ) and teammates ( Joe DeSantis) plus SI Legend Jack Tracy were able to attend the Burial. Others, up here, have been in touch. Such was the influence and respect that Billy had on us all.

one of the good guys
