In learning of the passing of Bill Needham, I was saddened. As a young rookie goaltender with Cleveland Barons in the latter 1960s, BILL WAS SO SUPPORTIVE, AND KIND. I'll never forget him offering encouragement. My sincere sympathy to Bill's family and loved ones. Lyle Carter, Brookfield, Nova Scotia.

Suzy sorry to hear of Bills passing. He was respected and admired by all who ever met or knew him. You are in my thoughts. Jack

Cheryl, your dad was one of a kind. Will be missed by all that knew him.

Cheryl, I just learned of your father's passing. I have fond memories of sitting with you and your mother in the old arena watching him play. He and my father would sit for hours and talk hockey. My parents hosted many Barons hockey parties that I watched from the top of the steps. He coached my brothers in HS. He was a fine gentleman. My deepest sympathy to you.

A true gentlemens, gentlemen. Prays to the family. Very lucky to have known him

I first met Coach Needham at the Cleveland Crusaders hockey camp at Rocky River ice arena around 1973. I later played for three years at Lakewood High School. He was a legendary player, coach and was loyal to his team and family. I learned a great deal from him and he made me a better man. God Bless you Coach.

Sympathys to you and your family. I wish l could come to the service but unable to walk because of waiting for two knee two replacements.Hope you are well. Your Dad was a great guy. I still remember when I guarding the BIG Friday night crowd and your father rescued me from an irate father that was going to pummel me because I made the kid leave the ice for creating havoc. Please know he will be horribly missed.

Starting in the later part of the 60´s my wife and I, sitting in the end zone at the Cleveland Arena, saw Bill in action countless numbers of time, he was great to watch. Later on with my mother, Mary, working at Winterhurst Ice Rink and our involvement with Winterhurst Hockey for many years and LHS hockey we got to know Bill and Sue very well. It was always a pleasure to see and talk with him. Bill was a great help with the hockey program. Our sincere sympathy to Cheryl on your loss. Rest In...
