I worked with Bill for several years in Washington DC on industry groups that GM and Caterpillar (my company) were members of. I was new to the DC scene and Bill could have easily passed me by. But he didn't. He made himself available to always help answer questions. He was a class act. And represented GM extremely well. So sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I had the good fortune to meet and work with Bill as head of a new industry group he helped form a few years prior to his retirement. He always brought great instincts and insight to whatever we were doing. He taught me -- a non-communications / non-media person at the time -- a lot about that world in a short amount of time; and still guides me today. He was fun to be around and kept in touch with our work after he retired. If I had a letter published...
