William Eugene O'Brien

Bill O'Brien what can I say but he was a great man. I have known him for 24 years.
I am married to his daughter Susan. Thanks to Bill and Susan I love for the Red Sox and Baseball. He has always been like a father to me. He was always a very giving man. Whether we were in the bleachers watching a game or at his house watching a game it was always special. I will miss him so much.

Bill was my second dad. I will never forget trips to the beach (Especially East Beach Galveston), the Brick House (several too many that day) and the many baseball and boxing talks we had. My friends still talk about our wedding party in his basement in Weymouth. Hard to believe you're gone. I will carry you with me forever. Love your son-in-law Ed.

Bill and I met at the Ocean View Ballroom where we all sent to dance on weekends. I was a senior in High School and Bill had just been discharged from the service after World War 2. From that time we never dated anyone else. We got married a few years later and raised 2 daughters. He was a wonderful father and husband. The 59 years of marriage ended too soon. I miss you very much Bill and will always love you. Barbara

Dear Aunt Barbara,
I'm so sorry to hear of Uncle Bill's passing. I always think of him when I go to Fenway. I will also remember him getting a ball signed by Ted Williams for my dad and his brother Frank when he was in the hospital. God Bless.

Bill I remember you taking me fishing from Holtz Pier, with a can of worms and penut butter and jelly sandwitches.Putting the cokes in the water to keep them cold. Those are very special memories you gave me and I will never forget. So pop that cold one, grab the drop line in God's ocean and catch a big one for me.Rest In Peace

Bill was my neighbor for a short six years. I loved to see him running out of the store we shopped at. He always had a big smile for me,sometimes a hug.He had a way of making a middle aged woman feelm like a girly-girl. I will miss him in the neighborhood. I remember the treats you left for me to find on the table when you came home late from work, I remember the ice cream cones you would carry home for me from Buzzy's, I remember you balancing a pizza while riding a bicycle, I remember how you could light up Jim's face like no one else.
