Ledyard - William J. Ormeno of Gales Ferry, passed away peacefully Aug. 16, 2014.
He was born Feb. 17, 1932, in Chester, Pa. He is the husband of Nan Ormeno.
Mr. Ormeno retired as a decorated gunnery sergeant from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1976, after serving 27 years.
A private funeral service with full military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
Byles Memorial Home, 310 Thames St., Groton, is assisting with the arrangements.
"He fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7.
