William Owsley Obituary
He was a native of Hardin County, a farmer, a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church and was on the board of directors for Hardin County Farm Bureau. He was a deacon and usher and worked with 3-year-olds at Cecilia Baptist and Severns Valley Baptist churches. He earned the American Farmer Degree shortly after graduating from high school, the highest degree in the Future Farmers of America.
He was preceded in death by his father, David M. Owsley.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Baughman Owsley; a daughter, Becca Owsley of Rineyville; a son, Jason (Brenda) Owsley of Glasgow; his mother, Iva Lee Owsley of Elizabethtown; a brother, Larry (Lois) Owsley of Prospect; a sister, Karen (Barry) Birdwhistell of Elizabethtown; a stepgranddaughter, Tessa Norris of Glasgow; three nieces; three nephews; two great-nieces; and five great-nephews.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at Severns Valley Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Langley and the Rev. Erdie Carter Jr. officiating. Burial follows in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and continues at 10 a.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the youth ministry at Severns Valley or Clarity Solutions for Women.

Owsley family and friends;
So saddened and heartbroken to learn of your great loss, and the loss for all of us who knew Pat. We would always share a wave and a smile as he passed by our house, which was often. Going to really miss that.
Heaven has another great man. God knows why and what's best, even though it seems so unfair at times, (Why the good ones, so young), but through it all He is there for us and will help us, if we let Him.
Just hold onto God's unchanging hand. Love you. If you need anything, just call.

Patrick was a kind man, always with a warm smile, soft hand and huge heart. He was always "there" and he will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

I am so very blessed that Pat was my uncle. He inspired my family and I in so many ways. I will cherish all of the memories we have of him, and will miss the genuine kindness that he always provided. My heart breaks for Linda, Becca and Jason, but know that we all love you very much!
