Not sure what to say?

I'll never forget Bill Payne. He was always so loving to my family.

I have such fond memories of Bill and his love for Betty.

Hard to believe its been 3 years already since Bill passed. Bill was a great sport to accompany Betty to all our family gatherings making them very special. I know he is enjoying time again with his Betty in heaven.

Much Love until we meet again, Cilla

We meet Bill and Betty in 2008 and enjoyed their company for many years while they lived in Vero Beach. We remember the many times we sat at our kitchen table with Bill & Betty over supper or at a small gathering. Bill always enjoyed recalling his Navy years and we learned about his charitable work. We will miss both Bill and Betty (who passed peacefully yesterday) and they will live on in our wonderful memories of times spent with the two of them.

I knew Bill for the last 10 yrs of his life. I don't think we ever sat together over a drink that we did not talk of his time in the Navy. He was the XO aboard an old WWII wooden "mine sweepeer" and then an Admiral's aide-de-camp in Heidelberg, GE immediately following the war. As his mental memory began to falter , the one thing that always remained easy to recall and talk about were his days as a Naval Officer. RIP Bill and we will all see you again one day soon. Bill will always be remembered by his kind words, gentleman manners and loving ways to my Mom and all the grandkids and great grandkids. We ALL have fond memories of several Christmas's together and vacations in Vero Beach. He is thought of very often with smiles on my face. See ya soon Pops!

Bill married Betty, my mom, just after I was married to Pat in 1981. We all lived in New York and got together once a month for dinner. We'd sometimes meet at an Italian place he loved just down the block from their upper East Side apartment where , one night at the table, I remember him excoriating Donald Trump who was then only a NYC phenomenon. But by far the best memory is of Bill playing grampa to our kids during summers in the 90s when we'd drive from Minnesota for 10 days at Forest...
