Not sure what to say?

Bill was always the gentleman--my wife and I appreciated working with Bill professionally as well as socially. I still remember Bill as at the time of his passing in 2015.

I still miss Bill. I think about him often. He was a true friend, a gentleman, and a great Optimist. I was proud
to present him his 50 year Optimist pin

I remember Bill well, especially since we were both active members of the Midland Railway Historical Association.

For 12 years , while I was in Lawrence, Bill gave me a friendship, that I think benefited us both. I was in Morocco, when I learned of his death. The news was a sadness. Like most people that knew him, I was rewarded by his friendship, and I know that in whatever dimension his soul is manifest, it is rich and strong through the kindness he displayed to so many people during his life.

Bill and I were Breakfast Optimists together for many years. I always remember the Optimists cookouts at his
farm. Bill was always one of the first to arrive at every Optimist event. I had just joined the club and had
major surgery at the Leavenworth VA Hospital. When I came out of surgery, Bill was awaiting with Darlene
to see that all was well. He was a great friend.

Prayers and fond memories are what we have to remember our Uncle Bill. Too many sweet remembrances to list, but I will never forget how supportive he always was to our children. He attended piano recitals, choir concerts, musicals and plays, and always told them how proud he was. We will be forever proud to call him Uncle Bill.

Uncle Bill was my mother Barbara's brother. He was shy and reserved but was enthusiastic when sharing his love of antique farm equipment. When we visited his house once, when my son James was a kid, Uncle Bill took us to a show of steam machinery in a small town near Lawrence (McLouth, KS). A large field was full of tractors, fired up and driving around. There was even a threshing machine being driven by a stationary engine. James was fascinated, as was I. I'm sorry that I was unable to...
