William Joseph “Bill” Penney, 38, of East Street, North Attleboro, died on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 as a result of injuries sustained in a single car motor vehicle accident on Route 1 in Norwood as he was on his way home from work. He was the husband of Suzanne E. Penney to whom he was married on August 14, 1987.
Born in Newton, MA on December 19, 1964, he was a son of Alta M. (Putnam) Penney in Tennessee and the late Hayward J. Penney. He resided in North Attleboro for the past 5 years and previously resided in Plainville and Framingham. He was a 1983 graduate of Wellesley High School.
Mr. Penney was employed as a stitch operator for Gannett Boston Offset, a printing company, in Norwood for the past 10 years.
He attended the First Christian Church, Mansfield.
Mr. Penney was dedicated to his children.
In addition to his wife of 15 years and his mother, he leaves two daughters: Samantha L. Penney and Alexandra E. Penney both at home in North Attleboro; a son: Christopher Penney of Lisbon, Maine; a sister: Pauline Sheehan in Florida; two brothers: David R. Penney and Richard A. Penney both in Florida and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday, January 25, 2003 at 10:00 AM in the First Christian Church, 13 Otis Street, Mansfield, with the Rev. David L. White, pastor, officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2003 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in the “Commonwealth Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, ¾ mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Penney Family Fund, c/o Foxboro Savings Bank, 2 North Washington Street, North Attleboro, MA 02760.
