Not sure what to say?

Leaella and I will miss Bill; his death came as a shock to us, after trading with him and Ruth Ann for over 30 years. He was both kind and knowledgable--customers became his friends.
Grant rest eternal in blessed repose, o Lord, to Thy servant, William, who is fallen asleep, and make his memory to be eternal!
Vicnaja Pamjat--Memory Eternal!

Mr. Penzey holds a special place in my heart. He appreciated differences but found in them a link that brought together flavors and aromas, people and places, the mundane and the exotic, the individual and the community. There were both a lesson and a quest in what he shared with his "apprentices" like our son John and his generations of customers. And he liked librarians who are left-handed. The Beaver clan bids him farewell with respect, gratitude and quiet smiles.

My deepest sympathy to Ruth Ann and the family. I am a customer of the store and love going there to buy jerk spice and the good peppercorns and vanilla. Your store really adds flair to our neighborhood.

I have kept the spice bottles with hand-typed labels from the many different types of garlic that Mr. Penzey sent me fifteen years ago. Who could have known that there were so many different ways to put garlic in a jar? I appreciated his knowledge and his generosity. My sympathies to his family on this loss.

Oue deepest sympathy to the family for your great loss. My wife Julie and I visited the Store quite often. Bill would always have explainations available. I make creme brulee and stopped to buy frsh vanilla beans and left with an understanding of how they are handled and some new recipes to try. It was always wonderful to get such insight.

Please accept our prayers and sympathy to Ruth and the Penzey family. My past visits to Milwaukee always included a stop at the Wauwatosa Store to see Ruth and Bill. Bill's Zen approach to spices made shopping there both informative and enjoyable. We will miss him dearly and have many fond memories of him.

My deepest sympathy to Ruth and her family. It was a pure joy to talk with Bill and Ruth at the Wauwatosa Store. Bill will surely be missed by all who knew him. I'm so sorry! My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deepest sympathies in the loss of your husband and father.

Our deepest sympathies to the Penzey family. My husband and I procured our spices from the Spice House for years, and in fact just saw Bill not long ago. He was absolutely wonderful with our 3 year old. We've lost a great one, and he will truly be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ruth, along with the rest of the family.
