Karen and Joyce, I am so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. My parents mentioned Bill and Joyce fondly over the years. He will certainly be missed by the Gardiner community.

So sorry for your loss. Bill and Joyce were good friends of my parents Sam and Gloria Laflin. My daughter Kasey helped care for Bill at Graybirch.

I met Bill for the first time working as a cashier in Farmingdale. After seeing him a couple of times I just HAD to ask if he was in any way related to the Laflin family as I saw a huge resemblance to my grandfather. No, he was not, however he was thrilled to find out my grampa was Sam. As it would turn out he and Joyce were great friends of my grandparents. My condolences to the Perry Family for the loss of Col. Bill Perry. I had Mr. Perry as a freshman english teacher at Winslow High School. He made a good impression on me in my youth. I was in the class of 67. May Bill's spirit live long in everyone who he met in his life. I also commend you for your service to our country.

Joyce, so sorry to read about Bill's passing. He was one of the best teachers I have ever had. When I taught ROTC in the mid 80's I tried to morph myself into him - told myself that if I was half as good a teacher as he was, I'd do just fine. Here's a final salute from one soldier to another.
