William H. Peterson

William H. Peterson, age 87, a 50 year resident of Homewood, passed away peacefully, July 9, 2008, at home in Rockford MI where he lived with his daughter Linda (Ken) Brauer and grandson Brandon. Daughter Karla (Scott) Hanley and granddaughter Ashley Brauer are residents of Los Angeles, CA. Beloved wife was the late Ingrid (Nelson) Peterson. Retired Mechanical Engineer, recognized for revolutionizing the railroad industry, held 64 U.S. patents and over 100 foreign duplicate patents through his work at Pullman Standard, Hammond, IN. Honored by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers with Fellow Grade and recipient of the 1987 Arnold Stucki Award for outstanding contributions that set a new industry standard.
