William Joseph Pickard

William Joseph Pickard, 61, Kokomo, passed away at 4:52 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at St. Joseph Hospital. William was born in Logansport on April 9, 1950, to the late Charles J. and Joan Pickard. His marriage to Joan A. Pickard was July 12, 1969, in Kokomo. William worked at Kokomo Sanitary Pottery for 26 years. He was a member of and former deacon at Fairview Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and camping, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. Survivors include his wife, Joan Pickard; a son, Paul Jacob (Denise) Pickard; two daughters, Susan LouAnn (Kenny Myers) Kendall and Karrie Joan (Brett) Lavengood; one brother, Chuck (Lori) Pickard; two sisters, Sue (Kent) Lay and Mary Lou Harman; five grandchildren, Maria Lane, Breanne "Duck" Lane, Joseph Pickard, Madison Warner and Emily Pickard; along with four nieces and five nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles J. and Joan Pickard. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Pastor Dennis Chapman will officiate. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery.
