Dear
Piper Family,
Here is the wonderful quote in the card I gave to Beth. "It is the will
of God and Nature that these mortal bodies be laid aside, when the soul
is to enter into real life; 'tis rather an embryo state, a preparation
for living; a man is not completely born until he be dead: Why then
should we grieve that a new child is born among the immortals? "

As a Piper employee during the 1940's I met and admired Bill, his father and the rest of the family. At the memorial service for Margo in Ft.Myers he was most gracious and friendly. I cherish the memory of the short time spent with him there and at Sentimental Journey and the pictures taken of us by Beth. Am proud to have been a small part of the Piper tradition.

I grew up thinking of Bill Piper as a hero of sorts. One of the high points of my life was meeting Bill Jr. for the first time at the Piper Museum. He was a good and humble man, he will truly be missed.

I have always thought that one of the major highlights of going to the "Sentimental Journey to Lock Haven Fly Ins" was the chance to speak with Mr. William T Piper Jr. I met him there in 1986. As soon as we were introduced, I called him "Mr. Piper". His immediate response was "It is Bill". So over the years it has been "Bill" whom I always found to be a friendly and gracious man. We will all miss him.

I am so going to miss our conversations. Bill was a wonderful. sharp witty man, I wish I had more time to know him. My deepests regards to Beth and the Boys, I'll see you Wednesday. He's certainly soaring now.

I did not know Mr. Piper, but my mother worked as a draftsperson for Piper Aircraft many years ago.
She spoke very highly of the Piper family saying that they knew their employees personally, which is unheard of today.
My prayers and sympathies are with you during this time of loss. Mr. Piper left a great legacy.
