Not sure what to say?

I'm so sorry I missed the services for Mr. Porter at SJE. I was a classmate of Kathy's for 6 years at SJE and I remember great times at the Porter house during those years. Mrs. Porter's infectious laugh will stay with me forever. My thoughts are with the family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Dear Porter family,
I was so saddened to hear of Mr. Porter's passing.Sonja, you and Bill, were so gracious and opened up your beautiful home to the Callanan Clan for Uncle Ed's reception and backyard Mass. He treasured your friendship.I have also been priviledge to help Pricilla and Paul at the Callanan Mortuary. I so wish I could have come to the service, but was in hospital for Knee surgery on Rt.knee Feb.11. God Bless you all in your sorrow and may fondest of memories remain. Love,...

My dear Lori,

I well remember when you first became a member of the Porter family. You spoke with such respect and reverance for your father-in-law. I know he meant so much to you.

I send love, many hugs and my deepest condolences for this incalculable loss.

As a teenage friend of Vicki's from Mercy HS, I had the utmost respect from day one for Mr. Porter. Only now do I fully appreciate a man who made sure everyone felt not only welcome, but special to hang at the Porter's special home.....not to mention raising incredible children !! (Sonja..you rock too!) The world has lost a wonderful Renaissance man, but the legend lives on!

Forty years ago, Mr. Porter took time from his very busy schedule as a business owner and father to act as Cub Master for a group of Webelos Scouts in Carmichael. He shared his time and energy, and in the process introduced us to the business world (tour of his tire recapping facility), and the joys of Lake Tahoe. As a leader, businessman, and father to his large family, he was a wonderful role model to us boys. The Porter family will be in my prayers.

My sister and I are so very sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. It is unfortunate that we didn’t know him to well personally. In reading more of Bill, I do know that he was a very significant part of your family and a dedicated member of your community. I hope the many fond memories you have together are comforting at this time. I am certain that his legacy will continue to live on through many generations and touch your lives for many, many more years to come. In that way, Bill will...

My friend and neighbor Vicki Porter and I spent many summer days in their pool swimming endlessly and on occasion scraping the tiles with pumice whan asked! We enjoyed the tree house, the numerous weddings in the back yard (and the setting up for them), serving beans to 49er coaches and staff, the rotary barbecues, and getting keys to the one room school house! He trusted us with what I often thought were big responsibilities. I was lucky to enjoy the South Lake Tahoe home biannually...

Bill was my friend for 62 yrs. We graduated from Loyola High School in 1951 and stayed in touch with each other thru the years. He & Sonja were Godparents in 1958 to my second oldest son, Tim. Bill was like a brother to me (as Sonja well knows) and I will miss him very much.. I became especially close to Bill in the past 12 years and I want his family to know (because he told me enough) how extemely proud he was of them and how thankful he was for being given such a blessing. He was a great...
