Not sure what to say?

I was fortunate to begin my teaching career while Bill was at The Gunnery where he was a model as a teacher and as a "schoolman." He also gave me the opportunity to try my hand at administration at Greens Farms Academy, which was a great boost to my professional career. Above all, however, the Posey's were good friends who contributed greatly to our wonderful years at The Gunnery. We send our sincere sympathy to the Posey family.

Fond memories of Bill in early days on the Gunnery School faculty, where he could be relied upon to enliven any party with wicked sense of humor, much as he enlivened his classrooms at St. Andrews in later years.
We have lost the mailing address, but our sympathies to Joan and all the rest of the family.

A great loss of a humanist, mentor and friend.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Bill Posey. I fondly recall the quality of the American History course he taught, his professional manner and how he treated the students with respect. I wish the sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

Mr. Posey is very much a part of my fondest St. Andrew's memories as a teacher who brought history to life. His classroom was more like a boardroom where we sat around a long table, discussing American history in humorous detail. He gave each president a personality. This helped us remember many aspects about them -- even if they were unmemorable presidents! Just the funny way he said the name, Millard Filmore, made us want to learn! I know he inspired others who also were fortunate enough...

Bill was an honored and highly respected colleague. He brought to Saint Andrew's School a gift of incomperable value. Bill will always be remembered here at Saint Andrew's and will always be revered.

I was fortunate enough to be one of the many hearts he touched at Saint Andrew's school and for that I will be forever grateful. Blessings to the entire Posey family.

Never a finer man or a finer mentor.
