Send Flowers PYLES, William "Bill" W. - Of Gladwin, formerly of Linden, age 60, died Thursday, March 23, 2006 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 3PM Monday, March 27, 2006 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Larry Rednower officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mid-Michigan Hospice in Midland. Visitation 11AM-3PM and 5-8PM Saturday and Sunday and 12Noon Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Bill was born in Flint, Michigan on August 1, 1945, the son of the late Walter W. and Opal (Stultz) Pyles. He married Jacqueline M. Gregory on June 23, 1966. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, car shows, woodworking and was very involved in his families activities. Mr. Pyles retired from the Genesee County Sheriff Department after 23 years and worked for Friend of the Court for 6 years. He was a member of the F.O.P. Surviving are wife, Jackie; sons, Wade and Andrew and fiancee' Adina and their 2 sons, Gabe and Steven; in-laws, Bill and Arlene Gregory and Pat Gruel; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice and Carson Hudson, Linda and Dennis Sloan, Martha and George Brown; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Jean.

So sorry to hear about Bill. He was a great guy. I worked with him at the courthouse-- he brought the "Pay up Arraignments" over to the courthouse with the Friend of the Court. I used to tease him about not wanting to ever get on an airplane -- and he had some horrific airplane story to tell of the one time that he did get on one. My condelences to the family -- he will be greatly missed.
