Not sure what to say?

Dear Jean and family,
I am so sorry to learn of your loss. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Bill at the Citizen in the early '70s. He was incredibly talented and a true champion of conservation. I'll always remember how he talked me into joining him on trip to Guaymas for a fishing tournament. I was an unadventurous college kid who had never ventured into Mexico past Nogales. While I got seasick both days on the water, Bill consoled me and never complained about losing fishing time when...

"Bill" was a great supporter of the Great outdoors, he supported many things I was involved in and with great respect. He will be missed, for sure.
God Bless all the family and friends,

He lived a long time.

Stephanie and Jean,
I am so sad for your loss. Bill holds a special place in my heart, as do both of you. We certainly had wonderful times together, like that great trip to Mexico and our fish stick luau! Poor Bill, putting up with my puzzle Christmas gifts that he was kind enough not to tell me he really didn't like them, as I found out much later. Jean, you and Bill always made me feel like your second daughter and Stephanie my sister. Bill was so good to David, taking him hunting and...

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Jean, Stephanie and family. I am so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He had a long and storied life here in Tucson and I remember him fondly. My heart, prayers and thoughts go out to you and your family.

The world lost a humble and talented man on June 20. Wildlife and conservation lost one of its strongest allies. Bill was a wonderful mentor, with a saintly patience at my lack of knowledge, yet eager to share hisan altogether too rare and precious combination in journalism today. I shall miss him greatly. My thoughts and prayers are going out for his family and loved ones. He cared enough to make a difference.

When I owned the marina at Parker Canyon Lake, Bill would come down and do stories about the fishing and the lake. I enjoyed his company, friendship and professionalism. And... such a kind man... he would usually bring me a sack of cement, some nails, or other materials he ran across that he knew I could use in building the marina. He will be missed by all he interacted with in this world... and be just as loved in the next world. My condolences to his wife and family.
