William Frank Ratti, 83, of Gilbert died Friday in Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of the late Frank and Mamie Ratti.

He had worked for Kidder Peabody in New York City for eight years before retiring in 1996 and previously he had worked for Air Lex in New York City for three years. Prior to that he had been an executive with Westinghouse in New York City and Pittsburgh for 47 years, retiring from there in 1985. He had also run a successful rental business for 42 years.

He was a graduate of New York University with a degree in law.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1941 to 1944.

He is survived by three sons, Ronald Ratti of East Stroudsburg, Richard Ratti of Congress, Ariz., and David Ratti of Sumner, Wash.; two daughters, Eileen Roberts of Glendale, Ariz., and Kathleen Serfass of Spring Hill, Tenn.; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sons, William, Jeffrey, Brian and James Ratti.

Private funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 5, in Kresge Funeral Home, Route 209, Brodheadsville, with the Rev. William McCawley officiating. Burial was in Gilbert Cemetery.
