Not sure what to say?

Dear Hope and Alex,
I'm so sad to learn I'll never hear his laughter again, and value the brief memories I have of our spending time together very much. All my good wishes. He loved you very deeply.
Barbara Rosen, La Jolla

Reese family, Billy was a quiet and fun friend. Two things jump to thoughts of our youth: we double dated with some William & Mary coeds once when we were still in high school; and he introduced me to William Faulkner when I was visiting him at UVA. I am happy he enjoyed a productive and full life, and I will remember him fondly.

Hope and family, I was sorry to hear about the passing of Bill. It was so nice to read about his accomplishments. I will keep you in my prayers. One of his classmates from James Blair, Rose Adams Mapp

I am sad to hear of Bill's death. I am smiling at my memories of him in high school and so glad to have been with him last June at the gathering of high school classmates. I will cherish his presence in memory and wish that for his family as well.

Bill was a good friend when we were both youngsters and again after we re-discovered each other decades later. He was close to several others among our mutual friends. We last saw him at the 50th reunion of the James Blair High School class of 1961. He had driven from his California home to be there. We'll miss Bill.
