I just ran across this in 2023. I am so sorry about Bill. He and I were friends at TT and I would have loved to have made contact again. He was indeed an activist and human rights advocate. I got a post card from him from Selma in 1965 in which he says that things were a lot worse than he had anticipated. Rest in Peace, Bill, Penny May

Shocked to so belatedly see this notice of Bill's death. I had thought of him, realized we hadn't heard from him in awhile, and started looking for him to invite him to our first post-Covid holiday party. And ran across this. Never aboring person. He never bragged about some of these things we are reading about in this notice. Love to you,Bill, in whatever space you now inhabit. Miss the perpetual twinkle in your eye. I first saw Bill walking across the campus of Texas Tech way back when..... I noticed him immediately because of his red hair, freckles, and confident walk. Turned out we had a mutual friend so I saw him several times more than just across campus. He never really noticed me however; but, he made an impression on me because of those freckles and red hair which reminded me of my Dad.
