William R. Risden, age 88 of Brick, NJ passed away November 29, 2014 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. William was born in Point Pleasant, NJ on September 19, 1926 to Albert and Martha Risden. He lived most of his life in Point Pleasant prior to moving to Toms River and in 2009 to Brick. William proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He then went on to work as a Butcher for Shop Rite in both Wall Township and Brielle, until his retirement.
William is preceded in death by his parents and by his first wife, Alva Risden in 1991, also four sisters and three brothers.
He is survived by his second wife, Mary Risden; by his two daughters, Cynthia Schultz and Michelle Risden; by his two brothers, Gerald and Edward Risden; two grandchildren, Dean and Sandra Schultz and one great-grandson, Ryan Schultz. William is also survived by twenty four nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Van Hise & Callagan Funeral Home, 812 Arnold Avenue Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742. The funeral service will take place Thursday, December 4, 2014, 10:00am at the funeral home, followed by the interment at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.
