William "Bill" Rogers

I met Mr. & Mrs. Rogers many years ago, as they came into the office.., always side by side. As the years passed and Mrs. Rogers health declined, Mr. Rogers would come with Mrs. Rogers to her appointments, hold her hand and assist her as needed. He always looked at her adoringly with that sparkle in his eyes. He was always kind and caring. After Mrs. Rogers passed, when Mr. Rogers would come in, despite losing the love of his life, he always had a smile for us. His visits cheered us up...

As a lifelong resident of Columbus until just recently, I still regularly read the local newspaper online, mostly for SEC football news, but sad to say, probably even more so for the obituaries. Today, I was not disappointed. Thanks you for sharing with me, a total stranger, the life of an extraordinary man in your beautifully written short story of Bill's life. I have just ordered "Stubby Pringle's Christmas" and intend to read it for Christmas in Bill's honor! Wish I had known him! God bless.
