Not sure what to say?

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

What a wonderful man Bill was. You could always count on a friendly hello and smile whenever you would see Bill. He is truly missed! We are all better people for having had the opportunity to know and work with Bill. May his dear family find comfort in all the special memories that they hold.
Rest in Peace Bill. I know you are in a better place.

The name “Bill” stood for “brilliance” both in my heart and here at UConn; he was truly a shiny star. If you ever felt down he would be sure to pick you up with his winning smile, his time, and kind words. One could be very proud of their life, if they led it with even ½ the grace that Bill did. I know I speak for many when I say; “Bill you will truly be missed.”

I am so saddened to learn of Bill's passing. My sincere condolences to the family. I met Bill while working at UCHC and was forever amazed at his ability to always remember names and his ever constant smile and kind words to all he met. He was one of the first people I told about my impending retirement and he was so supportive and gracious. I just know that Bill joined in the greatest choir of all this Christmas season.
God be with you as you cope with this great loss. God's richest...

Since I was a kid living up the street from the Rood Family, I remember Mr. Rood always had a big smile and a wave for me each and every time I passed by him. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Bill was a ray of sunshine! UConn will never be the same. He was part of our family here and how lucky his family was to have him in theirs. He will be very, very missed.

My work at UCONN never took me into direct contact with Bill, but even from a distance he would always smile and have a little wave for me. So sorry for your loss.

To Bill's Family. . .
I can still hear his hearty laugh and see his broad smile as my Mom and Bill would share a joke. . .Dad and Sylvia, a bit more reserved, would look on with quiet "tolerance." What a gentle man and servant of God to mankind. Well done, Bill!! Dear family, even in this time of Bill's absence from you, may you experience a rich Presence binding you together. . .giving you hope and courage for the journey.
"To the world he was just one, but to you he was the whole world."

May the Lord give you strength and peace in your time of need. Bill was a one of a kind soul, always willing to lend a hand to whoever was in need and going the extra mile. May you have comfort knowing that he was loved and admired by many. We will miss his smile. (UCONN)
