William A. (Billy) Rushing, 78, of Burnsville, Mississippi, died Tuesday, January 25, 2005, at the Iuka Hospital. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was a member of the Burnsville Church of Christ. He previously worked for Wurlitzer, but had retired from Packard Instruments in Illinois. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Thursday, January 27, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m on Friday, January 28, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Mike Edwards and Bro.Glenn Jones. Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery in Jacinto, Mississippi. Pallbearers include J. Taylor Rushing, Richard King, Richard Luttman, Arlie South, James Jones, and Billy Blakney. Honorary pallbearers include Kenny Rushing, Mike Rushing, and Richard Rushing. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary Nash Rushing; one son, Bill Rushing of Greenwood, AR; one brother, Travis Rushing of Florence, AL; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Rushing of Hurst, TX and Julia Rushing of Savannah, TN; and three grandchildren, Lily Violet, and Kenny Rushing, all of Greenwood, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Georgia Rushing, and two brothers, Charles (Bud) Rushing and James Rushing. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1660 Duke St., Alexandria, VA 22314.
