Not sure what to say?

Bill Saar greets his old teammate, Johnny Podres (the 1955 World Series Most Valuable Player) in Brooklyn in 2005. It was the 50th Anniversary of the Brooklyn Dodgers World Series win over the NY Yankees.

My name is Jeff Albies. I was a teammate of Bills´ playing baseball at Creedmoor State Hospital in 1968. Bill was a well respected player coach who also had a career as an N.B.A. referree .Bill was a great family man and was a true friend.

Bill Saar was a very good NBA official. You could tell that he cared about the game and the partners he worked with.
I liked him because he didn't back down
when self-absorbed players and coaches refused to exhibit good sporting behavior.
As a fellow Catholic and admirer, may God grant you, Salvation and happiness
in Heaven. I believe Our Dear Lord has a soft spot for sports' officials. He knows the difficulty of maintaining
peace and tranquility, in a chaotic world.

BILL WAS A FRIEND SINCE 1965.WE MET WHEN I WAS SWORN IN AS S POLICE OFFICER IN THE 106 PRECINCT.WE HAVE BEEN FRIENDS EVER SINCE.BILL WAS A ULTIMATE PROFESSIONAL,KIND HUMANE. MAY HE REST IN PEACE.

Bill was a friend, a neighbor, and a mentor to me. He taught me how to "be" a catcher. I remembered him when I wrote the song - The Dream of '55.
"Bill Saar was sittin' behind the plate
In Union City warmin' up his batt'ry mate
He was catchin' Johnny Podres
When they got the call
And so they made a beeline
For Ebbets Hall"
