Billy's encyclopedic knowledge of the music he played was matched only by his enthusiasm for all polka music. I met Billy in the 1980's and he made a lasting impression; one of the last connections with the "old school". He will be missed.

I feel very bad as I will be out of the country and not able to attend the service on Sept. 11. My apologies to the family because you know I would otherwise be there., I will be thinking about Billy as I often do especially when I hear a certain song, someone speaking Polish or I'm watching the Red Sox.
