Though nearly 50 years have passed since Bill and I last trod the decks of theUSS Hunt, I still recall his friendly face and cheery attitude. i send my condolences to his family.

I served with Bill Scaife on the USS Hunt over fifty years ago. We kept in touch over the years and had some good experiences in and out of the service. Bill was always an honorable man; a true gentleman. I feel privileged to have known him.

Cookie, I feel very sad that a long-time friend won`t be part of my life any longer, but my face will brighten everytime I think of Sonny Scaife. I treasure his memory.
