William J. (Jeff) Scarlett, 68, of Fenton, formerly of Owosso, passed away Friday, July 5th, 2013 at his residence. Funeral Mass at Christ Episcopal Church on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 1 PM with Rev. Alice Lewis celebrant. Interment will follow at the Scarlett Burial Estate, Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Mowen Funeral Home - William A. Scarlett Memorial Chapel.

Jeff was born August 28, 1944, in Owosso, the son of William and Kathleen (Warner) Scarlett. He was a graduate of Owosso High School, 1962 and attended the University of Indiana. He was employed at Consumers Energy, starting out as a lineman and retired after 40 years of service as the Director/Trainer of Electric Methods and Safety. Jeff was an avid golfer and shot his third hole-in-one while in Arizona this past winter.

Those who cherish his memory include: wife, Beth of Fenton; children, Lisa Scarlett of South Carolina, Terri and James Herrick of Grand Blanc and Troy Tomasky of Fenton; grandchildren, Jeff Scarlett, Zach Ackels, Nathan Sweet and Nicolas Sweet; great-grandchildren, Jovy Davis and Zane Ackels; siblings, Doug and Sarah Scarlett of Crossville, TN, James and Marion Scarlett of Owosso, Kim and Rick Mowen of Owosso, Robin and Dan Donelson of Owosso, Susan and Larry Arendt of Owosso; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Scarlett of Owosso; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lynne Scarlett and brother, Wade Scarlett.

Memorials are suggested to the Scarlett Family Memorial Scholarship Fund.
