The Scavone family was a big part of my youth - cookouts in our backyard were so much fun! Mr. Scavone was always full of life and love.

Dear Scavone children, Elaine, and all who love Bill- I always loved to visit your parents, and all my Scavone cousins. You had so much love, acceptance, spirit, and genuine kindness in your family. Your mom & dad were like kid-magnets. We always enjoyed being with them, and all of you.
I will treasure many fond memories of visiting with Bill, Ginny, and all of you, at Nonnie's (Marian George), at George Family Picnics, and at your house. I remember playing with you at those picnics. ...

Dear Scavone family-I was heartbroken to hear about Bill passing, and like his father and mother, he is an Icon! What a humble, fun-loving, kind, brave, thoughtful, caring man. He raised a beautiful, loving family with his lovely wife, Ginny. To all of you, Scavone children, you certainly reflect the fabulous parents you were raised by, you are all such genuinely great people yourselves. Your Dad was a World War II hero, a hero on the Police Force, and I am sure he was your hero, as a...

Says something extremely significant when you can know a man for 40+ years and only after he is gone discover that he risked his life at least 50 times to defeat totalitarian aggression. God bless Bill Scavone.

Sandy,
I feel so stupid. I was at the wake Friday night and forgot to look for you. I was talking to Marge and I apologize. I cannot come to the funeral Mass but want you to know that I think the world of your dad and just forgot the Harry/Sandy connection. I hope you will forgive me and know that your dad is in my heart and prayers.

My deepest sympathy to your family. My parents, John & Jackie Thiese, were great friends of your mom and dad. I remember fondly all the neighborhood cookouts in our big front yard (no one had money to eat out) and Mr. Scavone would organize the kids' games, including drop the handkerchief (at the time, all dads carried white handkerchiefs in their pockets). I would cut through your yard on the way home from my friend's house! I'll miss him and I wish your family well.
