Read MoreCondolences to the entire family on the loss of someone very special. I had him for 5th grade in 1954-5, South Mountain School , in what I believe was his first year as a teacher. I have thought of him often over the years. He stands out in my memory as one of the best.

60 years ago, Mr. Schaeffer was my 6th grade teacher at South Mountain elementary school in Millburn. I still remember him as kind, a good teacher, and fun to be around. My condolences to all of you.

Mr Schaeffer was my guidance counselor at Millburn High School from 1970 to 1973. I have never forgotten the impact he had on my life. He cared about his students and went above and beyond the requirements of his job to help his students. May he rest in peace and his family be comforted by knowing how much he was loved by his students.
