Not sure what to say?

Pastor Bill was like family when he lived in Kansas City. He was the first pastor I remember. When I moved to La Grange Ga and was about to marry I knew he was the one to do it. Million dollar smile described him to a "T". I am so sorry I missed his passing. Lora Hedden Goodson

I had the pleasure of meeting Bill in 2008 at the home of his brother Bob in Griffin, Ga. & continued to hear from him after Bob passed away. He was always so grateful to me for my help with his brother. Such a caring & God loving man that I will never forget.

We are so sorry to hear of Bill´s passing. He was a "prince" of a man. A good friend to all of the Smiley´s. We know he had many people meeting him when he got to Heaven. We are sure our Mom and Dad were at the front of the line !!

I am the executive director at The Shepherd's Center of Richmond and Bill reached out to me many years ago after he had moved to RVA. We had wonderful conversations and I so enjoyed getting to know him. I am sorry that he has left us. I really thought he would live until he was 120! What a life he led, the folks he helped and what an angel he will be! I am sorry that I was unable to attend his service. I attach a few photos of the two of us and one before my time at The Shepherd's Center...

He was the first pastor I remember. After services, when a child approached, he would stoop down and open his arms to embrace the child.

Deepest sympathy to all who mourn Bill. He will be missed.
