DECATUR - William R. "Bill" Scribner, 83, of Decatur passed away at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, May 23, 2006 in Lincoln Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 26, 2006 at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Northfork Cemetery with full military honors by the Macon County Honor Guard and the United States Navy. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lincoln Manor or the Lutheran School Association. Messages of condolence may be sent via email c/o www.dawson-wikoff.com. Bill was born September 1, 1922 in Decatur, IL the son of Morris and Edna (Watkins) Scribner. He married Ilamae Beasley on June 15, 1947. She preceded him in death on June 27, 1997. He retired in 1986 as a machinist from A. W. Cash Valve with forty-six years of service to the company. He was affiliated with the Christian Church and he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his many friends and neighbors. Surviving is his sons; Ron Scribner and his wife Patty of Kissimmee, FL and Tom "Scribby" Scribner and his wife Carla of Decatur, IL, grandchildren; Amy Boulhane and her husband Hassane, Jennifer Steiert and her husband Shawn, Beth Scribner, Ryan Scribner and Mallory Scribner, great-grandchildren; Zachary and Gabriel Boulhane, brothers; Ed Scribner and his wife Skip of Decatur, IL and Richard Scribner and his wife Oma of Lewiston, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents. The family would like to extend their greatest gratitude to Sheila McClung and the staff of Lincoln Manor for all the loving care and compassion given to Bill. Obituary written by family members.
