Not sure what to say?

Dear Mrs. Seale and family, I'm very sorry for your loss, Dr. Seale was the person instrumental in determining the "Plinth" from the White House of 1817. We emailed and spoke on numerous occasions as he was able to solve the mystery of where the Plinth was located with the help of a good friend of his. I liked and enjoyed him very much and so enjoyed our being on TV together on "Strange Inheritance " with Jamie Colby, and with my brother in law Mike Meister. Dr. Seale was always, thoughtful,...

I just learned this week that William had passed away. We were both born in Beaumont, Texas, and went to Southwestern University in the early nineteen sixties. In the summers, William and I would sit on his bedroom floor, drink good scotch, laugh our heads off and listen to Ruth Etting (Ten Cents a Dance; Mean to Me) and other 1920s singers. Those days were absolutely delightful, and without a doubt, the most fun I ever had. I adored William and miss him so very much.

I was deeply saddened by Dr. Seale's passing. While I only met him once and visited via telephone a couple of times subsequent, I was always aware that Dr. Seale was a great and accomplished man. We met briefly at Baylor University Medical Center when he was waiting for his vehicle. I walked out and saw him and instantly knew who he was. I started visiting with him and, while only for a few minutes, I felt that I had been in the presence of greatness. He was gracious and responsive to my...

Although I only had the privilege of meeting Dr. Seale on one occasion, Cassie and I do know one if his sons, John Henry and his wife Katherine. Their character and passion for life are no doubt a reflection of this great man. While are hearts are saddened with his passing, we are deeply grateful to this man for the voluminous legacy of his work that will enlighten and delight people for generations to come.

Although I only briefly met William Seale once, Cassie and II have the good fortune of knowing one of his sons, John Henry Seale and his wife Katherine. Their outstanding character and passion for life and family are no doubt a reflection of Dr. Seale. The entire Seale family is in our thoughts and prayer during this difficult time, but we are also grateful for the enduring legacy of Dr Seale's work to enlighten and entertain the minds of his readers for generations to come.

Lucinda, I consider myself so fortunate for knowing you and William. When James first brought me to your home, Ant Hill, I knew I was at an enchanting place owned by remarkable people. We all shared a strong understanding of the importance of having such places in our lives. William did so much to help further that understanding. I am so sorry for your loss. Ann Ramsey
