SECOR, William "Bill" BrearleyOf Brentwood, TN, formerly of Dallas, TX. Passed away on December 27, 2012. Born to Dana M. and Sarah L. Secor on November 16, 1931. Bill grew up in Midland, TX where he excelled in high school track and football. He graduated with a BA from Austin College, a BSEE from Texas A&M and a MSEE from the University of Pennsylvania. He served as a radio/radar operator for the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955. He married Sara Louise Marshall in 1954. Bill began his engineering career with RCA where he worked on the Ranger 7 spacecraft, an early phase of the USA lunar exploration program. In 1964, the family moved back to Dallas, TX where Bill became an electronics engineer for LTV Electrosystems, which later became E-Systems and then Raytheon. His work at the company focused on classified intelligence gathering by satellite surveillance. He stayed with the company for 27 years, retiring as Vice President for Division Support in 1991. An ethical man of high standards, Bill valued fairness, attention to detail, his dogs and above all, his family. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sara of Brentwood, TN; daughter, Marsha Tucker (Robbie) of Thompson Station, TN; daughter, Cynthia Welsh (Michael) of Greeley, CO; son, William Evan (Ginny) of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren; one great grandson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation or to First Presbyterian Church of Franklin, TN. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Franklin, TN on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:30 a.m. in the church parlor prior to the service.
