Not sure what to say?

Has it been eight years.............could it be so.................at every reunion / gathering of my classmates, Mr. Shaw is often referenced as a favorite teacher and coach. A mentor to me and many others. What a legacy of compassion, strength, and endurance! Mr. Shaw, you are greatly admired and missed!

Six years ago we lost him here on earth.........miss him deeply and reflect upon what he taught us often.......what a legacy he has........... Craig Douglas

On this anniversary of Mr. Shaw’s passing I am reminded of what a great person he was. I was home on leave from Vietnam and he took me and my best friend, also VN vet, to dinner at the Brown Hut as thanks. I will always remember that kindness.

On this anniversary of his death Id like to say that Mr. Shaw was the most influential teacher I had during my high school years at Concord. I respected him for his brilliant mind, his patience with students and his comforting presence. I admired him not only for his personality but for his ability to overcome his physical restrictions. You could always count on him being a stable presence day after day. An honorable man.

I'm glad I was given the opportunity to meet Dr. William Shaw. I meet him in high school and he was always very helpful. He was a good listener and gave good advice. He didn't judge people. He genuinely cared for the students. He will be missed and never forgotten.

I just replied to a post on the S.C. FB page that asked, "who was the best teacher you remember having?". I replied with Dr. Shaws name, as he has always been memorable to me. Someone replied with a link to this page. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing and I hope that his family can take a little comfort in knowing that he had such a full life, dedicated to having positive impact on so many children... even those of us that had a bit of a hard time getting through those teenage years. He...

God bless your family Dr Shaw. You will always be remembered in my heart. Dr Shaw was my "boss" when I worked CoOp at the Swartz Creek admin bldg when I was 16 (way back in the 1980s). I started as a switchboard operator and also worked in child accounting. Dr Shaw was always encouraging and uplifting and as years went on he would continue to be such a kind person when we would see each other in the community. You will be missed by many.

Not only was he a great teacher but a great man as well. His Government and Civics classes inspired me in school. Mr. Shaw was always a gentleman and impacted everyone he came in contact with. He will be missed. CHS class of '66.

Mary, I graduated from Concord in 71. I remember Mr. Shaw and always felt so much respect for him. Blessings and Peace to you and your family.
