Read MoreMy deepest condolences. I met Bill and Kate when I moved to Wilmington. I never knew all the things he did, how great is is to know. They provided a haven and legal help for my troubled friend, Patricia, and I always appreciated that and never got to thank them. I miss both Bill and Kate.

Bill is on the back row in the middle. This was our Sunday School class when we were about 8-9 years old at St. Stephens Lutheran Church (LCA) in Hickory, NC. The memorial photo is by Glenn Deal, and is to honor our St. Stephens High School Class of 1961 Classmate, Bill Shell. The photo on the far right is when Bill visited our class mini-reunion in 2023.
