Bill is definitely missed by Shirley and me. He was one of first OCS candidates to befriend me and our friendship grew stronger over the years. I´m sure he´s looking for a"pickup" basketball game in heaven. Fred/Shirley Jones

Out of the blue, I thought of my old friend Bill Sheridan today and was very sad to learn of his passing. Bill and I lost touch decades ago, but I had met him at the Jersey Shore in 1971 when I was a teenager and he and his friend Kevin O´Connor were working at the Old Sea Girt Inn while also being involved with the Jersey Shore Basketball League, which back then was played outdoors at both Sea Girt Inn and Jerry Lynch´s in Belmar. Bill befriended me and several of my friends from Sea...

Bill at Fordham and I at Iona played against each other at Rose Hill in 1963. Two years later we were teammates
on the 65-66 Quantico Marine basketball team. We maintained our friendship at many annual Quantico Marine Athlete reunions since 2006. Bill loved the game of basketball and had much success as both player and coach.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bill's family. Rest In Peace Marine.

Bill and I served together in the Corps and really enjoyed noontime basketball games at Quantico back in the mid-to late 60’s. He was also a cherished member of the Quantico Marine Athletes of the Sixties Group. Sincere condolences from Shirley and I.

During our JV year in 68/69, after his Atlanta Hawks tryout, Howie Rupert had Billy make a weekly visit to scrimmage against us. Although we doubled and trapped him all over the floor, we never stole the ball from him or forced a bad pass.
He always had a smile on his face and offered very constructive pointers to hell us improve our game. Thank you Billy.

Billy and I shared the same classroom at St Peter's Boys High School for four years. He was a good friend throughout those years. He later worked hard helping to organize class reunions which for me began with our 45th in 2004. Billy easily convinced me to fly up to Staten Island from Arizona for that event and others which followed.
I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. He will be well remembered. May he rest in peace.
