Bill was a great football teammate, both at Alter and at Notre Dame. At Notre Dame, Bill was a long-snapper for field goals, xtra points, and punts. He was outstanding in this role, and was always well-prepared to do his job. Among his many other highlights at ND, during the 1980 season Bill's perfect snap allowed kicker Harry Oliver to boot a 51-yard field goal--on the last play of the game--to beat Michigan 29-27.
