Bill and I were roommates for the Opening Retreat of Leadership Birmingham, Class of 1992. He was a fascinating conversationalist. We spent the evening talking about various topics. I enjoyed subsequent times seeing him and engaging in dialogue about the happenings of Birmingham and world affairs. I am grateful for his friendship. May he rest in eternal peace.
