William John Slayton Sr.

Although I did not study German while a student at Graceland (1966-1970), I always thought of "Dr. Slayton" as a friend, a co-minister in the RLDS Church, and always appreciated that he never failed to smile and say "Hello" when we met one another along the campus sidewalks.

I feel it is a great legacy that he served the Church so ably and for so long, both as an interpreter and as a career faculty member at Graceland University; he influenced the lives of hundreds of (young)...
