So sorry to learn of your loss. Will was simply the best psychiatrist I have ever known. I have watched him interview patients in the presence of residents and medical students as a teaching exercise and his manner, methods, and results were true remarkable. He was a great teacher of his craft as well as a terrific clinical psychiatrist. Furthermore, I considered him a good friend. I will miss him and so will the legions of others whom he has taught or helped. The world will miss Will...

William Sledge was as humane as he was smart. I enjoyed so much talking with him about all sorts of things, including the possibility of a psychoanalytic studies program at Yale. I will miss him sorely

To Betsy and William's family William was an exceptional psychiatrist, advocate, and friend to many of us in the mental health community. He supported Fellowship Place as the agency grew and adapted to the changing needs of the individuals we serve. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all.

He was compassionate and kind to all. With sincere sympathy, Dennise Murray Boyle,...
