What an amazing man and wonderful tribute. You would have had to have such an outstanding father to become...you!
My sympathy. It's been 34 years since my dad died and I miss him every day. I seem to loose the men in my life at an early age. You were very blessed to have him in your life for so long.

I am a friend of Mr.Smart's son Bill {William Jr.} and would like to offer my sincere sadness that comes with loosing your dad.I met him only once and he has such a kind look that I'm sure I would have admired him. I would very much like to talk to his son that went to East high "65"as I believe his accomplishments and talents seem to mirror what I have read in Mr. Smarts obit.

I want to send my condolences to your family on your father's death. My father, Theron Liddle, worked with him for many years at the Deseret News. I remember spending the night at your house once. I'm not sure what the reason was, but it was experience I won't forget. It was the first time I had experienced a family kneeling in family prayer before bed. It made a great impression on me. He lived a long and wonderful life.

Bishop Smart was one of the most wonderful men who influenced my life. As my Bishop for most of my youth in the Federal Heights Ward, Bishop Smart led our congregation with such heart, wisdom and grace, that I could not imagine a more Christ-like servant of my Savior. He always made me and the other youth feel important and valued. He inspired with both words and his example, and I shall always treasure my memories of him, and the special Federal Heights congregation which he led and served.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. As time passes may you find peace in the memories you share, and comfort from the hope that God is close to the broken-hearted.
