Not sure what to say?

I knew Mr. Smiley briefly, our paths crossed just a few times. The first time at the veterinary hospital where I formerly worked during his dog Jewel's difficult illness. We were all so devistated for him when she didn't make it. And more recently at the vet hospital where I now work...he and his daughter had taken the plunge and brought a new little pup into their lives! I have often thought that you could tell much about a person's character by how much they love their pets, and I think Mr....

I am so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He was such a beautiful person. I also have wonderful memories of Bill. He will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to Bill's family. I just saw Bill two weeks ago at my own father's funeral. Bill knew my father Leo LaVoie from One Stop. My father thought the world of Bill. My prayers are with all of you.

Though I hadn't seen Bill in years, he was the kind of person you were glad to know. He was always smiling and laughing. I have fond memories of our softball and bowling days, competing against and with each other. My deepest condolences to all who called Bill 'friend' and loved him.

Although I only saw Bill once a week or so when our paths crossed during dinner at Captain Harvey's, he always went out of his way to stop and talk for a few minutes. I appreciated these brief encounters, as I'm sure all who knew him did. He will be missed greatly by all.

My deepest sympathy for Mr. Smiley and his family. His smile could light up the room and the man had being a father down to a science. One could only aspire to be as great a dad as him one day.

I'm so sorry I couldn't be with you today to say goodbye to Bill. He and his family have been fondly in my thoughts often over these past many years. My deepest heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of Bill's family over his sudden and terribly tragic death. Cathie and Mama Trott, my thoughts and prayers are especially with you.

During this difficult time, I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Rachel & Alex, as well as Erin, Mr. & Mrs. Trott, Bill’s sisters, and his extended family.

In my brief time of knowing Bill, I can say that he was truly a gentleman, with a polite & caring manner, and the ability to engage in meaningful conversation with relative ease. He made others in his life feel appreciated, and people were at their best when in Bill’s presence. He will surely be missed by many, but...

We were so fortunate to have Bill as a wonderful, smiling neighbor and friend. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family.
