To:The Spruill family, you have my deepest sympathy in the lost of your love one and my traveling friend and may the lord bless and keep you in these times of sorrows.

Deepest sympathy to the Spruill family. Mr. Spruill was such an inspiration and made HS Band one of my life's greatest memories. May God keep you during this time of bereavement.

I have never personally met Mr. Spruill, but growing up in Lorain, everyone knew his name. I am a teacher now in Lorain City Schools and it is because of reputations such as his that empowered me to teach in our district. Rest In Peace Mr. Spruill! Truly a Lorain City Schools legend!

Many of my fondest memories of junior high and high school are of Mr Spruill and band. He pushed us to the limit and made us better musicians because of it. I'll never forget him. My deepest condolences to your family.

Well Heaven has received a great musician, I can see him now at the Pearly gates claiming that it's a no teeth day. I will forever cherish my band memories and the nickname of Duck that he bestowed upon me my freshman year. You will be missed.

Mr. Spruill was the most influential person in my high school life. He was always joking with us during marching band, but could turn serious at a moment's notice. My best memories of high school were a result of his love for our class of 1991. My love for jazz could not have happen without him. He was responsible for influencing me to the grooves of yesterday.
