William Nile Stadler, Jr., 53, passed away unexpectedly on October 24, 2017, and is now resting in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. Bill was much-loved by his family, including his parents, William Sr. and Betty Stadler of Slidell, his sisters Linda and Christie Stadler of Slidell, Beth Stadler Mills of Indianapolis, and six nieces and nephews who adored him.
Born in Charleston, West Virginia, Bill and his family moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1966. Bill was an all-around athlete, particularly in tennis. When he was 10 years old, he played in the National USTA Championships in New Orleans. When Bill was 14, he was ranked #1 in the USTA Midwestern Division. After moving to Slidell with his family in 1981, Bill graduated from Slidell High School where he excelled on the tennis team, winning 2nd place in the Louisiana State Tennis Championships. He attended LSU for a short time, and then discovered he had a particular talent for landscaping. He created beautiful, natural-looking yards and koi ponds for work and family members with a unique flare.
Bill was a devoted Saints fan and an avid member of the Who Dat Nation. Bill loved animals and rescued many during his life, including helping a local group feed abandoned feral cats in the community. Most of all, Bill loved his family, and they loved him. His sense of humor, compassionate heart, and loving, joyful spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to attend Bill’s memorial service at First Baptist Church, 4141 Pontchartrain Dr., Slidell, LA on Monday, October 30, at 11:00am. Visitation will start at 10:00am. Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Assistance League of Slidell, 2700 Terrace Ave., Slidell, LA. 70458. (985) 646-4267.

Dear Stadlers,
I am still struggling with the loss of your son, the girls' brother and my longtime friend, Billy. He was like a brother to so many of us through tennis, his second family while in Fort Wayne. I will forever be thankful that I got to know all of you, Billy had a positive impact on everyone he ever met. He truly loved life, his friends and I know he loved his parents and sisters. I so miss my dear friend. My deepest sympathies to all of you.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Stadler,
My heart is broken to hear about the passing of Bill. I am sorry for your loss. Bill was a very good friend an part family member, the closest thing to a brother I could've had. My sons called him uncle Bill. He and I shared incredible memories together growing up and I will always keep a special part of him with me in my soul. I will truly miss my dear friend.

Dear Sweet Stadler Family - I'm so sorry to hear of Billy's passing. Just breaks my heart. We always had so much fun at Tippecanoe Baptist camp. Billy actually gave me my first bloody nose at your house in Ft. Wayne - he used to tease me about it. So wonderful to have great memories. Know that you are all in my prayers. Love to all, Kristin Pittenger
