Read MoreI loved and admired Coach Stell. He was really the only coach at Hillcrest High School (70-73) that took a personal interest in me and believed in me. He was kind and fair and honest. I will miss him, but never forget him. I'm sorry for the family and the great loss it is to have him pass. A great man with a great legacy. RIP

My deepest sympathies to Coach Stell's Family. He was my Dad's (Willie Hughes Sr.) and my Uncle's, (Walter Furnace) High School (HS) Football Coach at Ennis' Carver HS. He actually coached against me when I played at Ennis HS, while he was coaching at Dallas Madison HS. We became to know each other well over the years, and I have enormous respect for him. I absolutely loved hearing him and my Dad share historical stories about growing up in Ennis, and about Carver HS. Rest In Peace Coach
