For the short time I had the privilege of working with Captain Stevens on the Lakewood PD., he was certainly one of the kindest, compassionate individuals I had the privilege of working with.

Today, we honor the life and memory of Bill - a truly remarkable man whose kindness, strength, and quiet warmth touched all our hearts. Bill came into our lives at a time when love and companionship meant everything. From the moment he married Dorothy it was clear that he brought something special to our family - a steady presence, a gentle soul, and a generous heart. Stephens Family, So very sorry to learn of the passing of Bill. I first met him back in the middle 50´s and always knew him as a gentleman and a fine police officer.My father and Bill spent many years together on the LPD and he always spoke highly of him. Condolences to Sheila and the entire family. Bill was a close friend (and co-worker) of my Dads, and to our entire family as well. Many fond memories of our family outings together. Bill was a true gentleman and a consumate professional in every way. A very honorable man. Proud to call him a fellow police officer.
